Notice is hereby given that the hundred and eighth (108th) Annual Meeting of the members of the Dodge City Cooperative Exchange, doing business as Pride Ag Resources will be held on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024. The meeting will be held at the Boot Hill Casino Conference Center, 4000 W Comanche, Dodge City, Kansas. Meeting registration will be from 5:00 to 6:00 PM and the meal will be served at 6:00 PM; the annual meeting will follow the meal.
The purpose of the Annual Meeting is to present the annual reports to the stockholders by the Board of Directors, presentation of the 2023-24 fiscal year financial statements, election of the directors, and for the transaction of such other business that may properly be brought before the membership.
Clint Hamilton and Jacob Tarman are stepping down from their Director positions which will leave five board members. This eliminates the need for the first ballot of the voting process according to the bylaws. The two vacant board positions will be filled during the business meeting with nominations from the floor.
At this year’s annual meeting, our guest speaker will be Kansas Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Beam. Secretary Beam was appointed in January 2019 by Governor Laura Kelly after 38 years with the Kansas Livestock Association.

Kansas Secretary of Agriculture
Mike Beam
Mike Beam was appointed secretary of the Kansas Department of Agriculture by Governor Laura Kelly in January 2019.
Beam came to KDA following 38 years of experience in association management for the Kansas Livestock Association. He has served as the Executive Director of the Ranchland Trust of Kansas, an affiliate of KLA, for 15 years.
He has dedicated his career to assisting farmers and ranchers to advance their policy and public relations needs and in building highly visible, responsive and respected organizations. In his role at KLA he participated and led coalitions in strategizing and implementing legislative and regulatory initiatives.
Beam began his career as a County 4-H and Youth Extension Agent in Dickinson County, following his graduation from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences and industry. He began at KLA in 1980 as a field representative before being named Executive Secretary of Cow-Calf/Stocker Division in 1983, and in later years he became Senior Vice President at KLA. He began as Executive Director of Ranchland Trust of Kansas in 2003.
In addition to his professional duties at KLA, Beam has demonstrated his leadership as president of several state and regional organizations, including Partnership of Rangeland Trusts, Symphony in the Flint Hills, Agribusiness Council of Kansas City and Kansas Society of Association Executives.
