Pride Ag Resources is pleased to announce the acquisition with Elkhart Coop has been completed. We made the announcement late summer that we were in negotiations with their board and financial institution. We acquired their assets at the end of September. We would like to welcome the additional employees to the team and also the new producer members that have joined or will be joining Pride Ag Resources in the future. The timing of the acquisition wasn’t the best due to the start of fall harvest but the team of employees worked diligently to get facilities ready in a short period of time.
We want to personally thank the entire team of employees, board of directors, and CoBank staff for all their efforts in making the acquisition come together. There have been new members from the Elkhart area even help to get facilities ready for harvest, we want to thank them also. As a cooperative there isn’t a better feeling than one cooperative joining together with another cooperative so the resources are available for their producers to be successful but still be a member of the cooperative system. It’s a great example that reflects the cooperative principles and values.
Pride Ag Resources was formed in 1915 in Dodge City Kansas. From this beginning through mergers, acquisitions, and expansion the Coop today has 28 grain facilities totaling over 31 million in licensed storage capacity, four agronomy centers, 4 ACE Hardware stores, 2 feed mills, one grain shuttle loader/unloader, 24,000 ton dry fertilizer facility, 15 million gallon liquid fertilizer facility, and 208,000 bulk chemical facility. Employing more than 180 full-time employees, and working in over 15 counties in three different states, Pride Ag Resources represents over 3,000 voting members, and over 6,000 active customer/members.
